Design Programming Poster
This renovation transformed a single loft into three fully self-contained residential units designed for distinct use and maximum resale value. The layout includes a primary loft residence with an integrated studio/home office, a one-bedroom rental apartment, and a fully accessible rental unit designed for inclusive living. Each unit is designed to function independently, with dedicated entries, kitchens, and utilities—ensuring privacy, flexibility, and long-term investment potential.
This was a collaborative project. My portion was the primary loft residence and workspace/studio office.
Osram ne Nsoromma
CONCEPT
In our design process, we drew inspiration from Adinkra symbols—cultural expressions of the Asante people of Ghana—to honour our clients’ heritage.
For the primary unit, I based the concept on Osram ne Nsoromma, the symbol of faithfulness, loyalty, and harmony. Its four pillars shaped key design drivers: creating meaningful connections through intentional choices like sourcing from Black designers, selecting sustainable, lasting materials that support family life, applying Gestalt principles to ensure visual balance, and weaving in Ghanaian traditions to honour the client’s roots.

It was a true honour to work on this project with my team. I loved learning about Ghanian culture and design, and I hope to explore diverse projects like this one in future designs.
