With all this money flying around, why isn’t it landing with female entrepreneurs? Do we universally have worse ideas? Nope. Ours have business models, users and vision. The biggest issue is the people with money (VCs), don’t understand our market.

Starting today, I am no longer drinking alcohol. I’ve done it before. Twice. And both times I started up again after a year or so. Time for this woman to get back in motion!

Switching costs are probably the biggest barrier for growth in a competitive marketplace. Here is a story where the switching costs were reduced for one service and leaving was made easy by another.
Being a tough act to follow means putting yourself out there in a raw way. Everything that captures us has to do with that. It’s not bravery, it’s admitting we are human beings living in the human condition in odd, changing, crazy human times.
This is the talk I gave at TEDxConcordia on Saturday. It was given from my heart and left me feeling a little raw…but the audience was terrific. I’m happy to say my rollercoaster is moving up the track again.
I believe more in strategic thinking than positive thinking. Affirmations only go so far. Action is where it’s at.
