- Say ‘no’ more often – and learn to say it with panache!
- Get that startup of mine off the ground!
- Workout more – this one is pretty standard on everyone’s list, but walking the dog doesn’t cut it, right? ;)
- Take a holiday – a real one. Unrelated to work. Just play. And dammit, stop making my holidays into a production!
- Get that book done! The second one that is in limbo right now because I’ve been traveling too much.
- Make a budget – or get an accountant to make one for me. And stick to it.
- Help Tad pass grade 10.
- Convince my landlord to remodel the kitchen, installing a dishwasher.
- Put together at least one event – the conference that I’ve talked about or the women’s getaway that just started brewing in my brain. Or both.
- Learn French!!!!
Change the worldokay, that may be too ambitious for one year, but hell, I’ll keep heading in that direction.- Don’t go broke in the process. This relates to #1. And #2. And #5 & #6. This year felt like I had too many ‘broke’ moments. I need to learn to balance what I give away (bringing whuffie) and what I spend time on that puts money in the bank. I won’t do anyone any good living on the street.
- Enjoy yourself! Embrace it all.

Great ideas and the best of luck. It can be tough to maintain resolutions, but it is nice to see that you are working on the list one month early. It really makes me want to borrow that indirect advice and start building my list as we move from November to December! I definitely share a few of your resolutions! Thanks for sharing!

Wow, that’s ambitious. I was just thinking I need to lay out my 2010 and I think this will be an excellent template – especially number 1. Oh and 2. And 3 and 4 and 9 and 12 and 13 ;)

Great list Tara. I was looking at my 2009 list this morning and thinking I should start mapping my 2010 goals. I write mines down on a piece of paper and keep it by my desk as a reminder of where I would like to go each morning.
Number 6 is hard but once you get into the swing of it, it’s easy. I started mines in June 2004 and never looked back. Now I kinda track everything from my investment portfolio, school debt, trip/vacation budget as well as my overall income and expenses for living. If you want a copy of my excel temp… send me an e-mail and I can send you a copy. It’s nothing fancy but it works.
If I can be of any help with your startup idea. I would love to chip in and lend a helping hand. You can knock out this list next year.

I’m signing up for 3, 10 and 13. However my Shih Tzu would like to point out that #3 has many side benefits.
